We develop a pill-sized medical device for targeted and minimally invasive sampling of the human gut microbiome

Trillions of microorganisms, collectively referred to as the gut microbiome, inhabit our intestines. This immense community of bacteria is known to play an important role in digestion and to protect us from foreign microorganisms. In recent years, our gut bacteria has also become increasingly linked to several common and chronic health conditions.
The company was formed when five PhD students at the University of Oxford realised the strong impact our gut microbiome has on our health. We identified an unmet need in both research and clinical settings and since then developed a patentable technology with proof-of-concept data. Today our team consists of seven highly-dedicated men and women across five different nationalities, supported by advisors and external collaborators who share our common vision to transform gut health.
